Open House Mandala at Ithaca College (IC), 10/8/23

Participants at the Open House at IC were invited to create a mandala using various weaving and mending techniques. This event was a collaboration between Ithaca College, Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies and The Soil Factory in Ithaca NY.

The textile mandala continues to travel to various locations, encouraging people to add stitches and stories to the fabric.

It presents an open invitation to participate in a communal project while learning and practicing stitches that are commonly used to mend, repair and embellish clothes and other textiles.
