Late Summer Room with a View

This was my “Room with a View” this summer:  One foggy late summer morning from my bed room window in the Black Forest.

After a long summer here in Germany I’m now ready to go home.

I found plenty of inspiration in the soft and muted colors and patterns of Southern Germany. The images below were taken in and around Freiburg:

Below is the small German/Swiss border town of Laufenburg which is divided by the Rhine and connected by bridge. People can easily stroll from Germany to Switzerland and back, much to the amazement to my daughter, who is used to random airport searches and suited security guards.

Even the sidewalk reminds me that it’s time to go home.

See you next week.

  1. What a beautiful place to be! I look forward to seeing how you translate these patters and color palletes into works of art of your own. I also eagerly await frequent postings from you.

How wonderfully inspirational. Love them all, can’t even pick a favorite, they’re all grand.

Thank you so much for sharing, I love these photos. I want those shutters for my house and stones like that on my sidewalks. Yes, yes come home.

The forest is breathtaking. Don’t you kind of expect some mythical creature to walk out of the forest?

I can’t wait to hear more stories… safe homeward travels! You’ve been missed and cup of coffee and cozy spot are waiting for you in my living room! And if it’s still hot… we’ll make it ice tea on the deck! xxxx

how very profound that we are able to find inspiration in all of our surroundings whether here at home or across the oceans. Thx for your eye’s view of your travels. have to say I ‘love’ the scissors and would very much like to share this unique photo with my audience with your link if I may. Thx for considering.
